Uttar Pradesh : The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation joined forces with the core state Transport Department to execute a massive ground-level plantation push today by planting exactly 300,000 saplings across multiple districts. Transport Commissioner Ashutosh Niranjan personally commanded the environmental rollout on the ground in Bulandshahr. The initiative mobilized hundreds of local officials to ensure immediate action.
Official field metrics indicate the main Transport Department secured 120,000 saplings in the soil while the UPSRTC division handled the deployment of the remaining 180,000 units. Niranjan clarified that these specific regional drives are engineered to force immediate improvements in groundwater conservation and heavily promote local biodiversity. The commissioner confirmed the strict allocation of these green zones will create a vastly cleaner operational environment across heavily polluted transit corridors.
State Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh took charge of a separate administrative block to monitor and plant saplings directly in Ballia. Cabinet colleague and Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Swatantra Dev Singh anchored his own intensive plantation drive in Jalaun. Both aggressive regional actions operated under the strict statewide ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ directive.
Singh addressed the active crowds in Jalaun by detailing the administrative vision behind the large-scale soil operations taking place across the district. He stated, “The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign is not merely about planting trees but is a commitment to building a greener, more prosperous, and safer future for the coming generations.” The state government is now linking these raw tree counts directly to long-term climate resilience planning.
Irrigation Department Rollout
The Uttar Pradesh Irrigation and Water Resources Department entirely bypassed its primary environmental mandate for the 2026 fiscal year by deploying thousands of field workers to saturate targeted geographical zones with new vegetation. Field teams officially recorded exactly 1,519,865 planted saplings against an initial state-issued target of 1.5 million. The massive forestry rollout formed the operational core of the Vraksharopan Mahayagya-2026 schedule.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath originally issued the sweeping call for the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ mobilization to mandate aggressive climate change mitigation tactics across all local government bodies. The structural shift towards enforcing strict departmental tree planting quotas is directly addressing the escalating challenges posed by rapid environmental degradation. Department heads tracked the real-time planting data through internal government dashboards to ensure zero discrepancies in the final physical count.
