The food delivery arrived as activist Sonam Wangchuk formally called off his 26-day hunger strike at Medanta Hospital. Wangchuk ended his fast after Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh handed him a signed written guarantee from the central government.
The official document commits the administration to overhaul the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) setup and restructure national competitive test administration.
Wangchuk was discharged following medical clearance after receiving the written pledge from ministers. The protest ground at Jantar Mantar remains active with students holding banners against the Ministry of Education.
