The newly presented Uttarakhand Budget 2026 Women Empowerment initiatives aim to integrate women into the state’s core economic fabric through targeted social welfare and educational incentives. BJP State General Secretary Deepti Rawat Bhardwaj stated that the fiscal roadmap reflects Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s commitment to providing dignity, security, and opportunity to women across the hill state.
According to Bhardwaj, the budget strengthens existing frameworks that support females from birth through motherhood. She specifically noted that the Nanda Gaora Yojana continues to play a pivotal role in encouraging the education of girls, while the Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Kit provides essential supplies to newborns and their mothers.
Economic Independence via Self-Help Groups
Beyond direct welfare, the state government is prioritizing economic self-reliance by incentivizing women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs). By providing financial support and market access, the administration aims to transition rural women from domestic roles to active contributors in the state’s GDP.
The Anchal Amrit Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana also remain central to the state’s healthcare strategy. These programs address nutritional deficiencies among children and provide critical financial aid to pregnant women, ensuring a holistic approach to family health in Uttarakhand.
