FASTag Annual Pass Fees: The NHAI annual pass price is scheduled for a mandatory upward revision starting April 1, 2026, making highway travel more expensive for frequent commuters. Senior officials from the National Highways Authority of India confirmed that the current flat fee of ₹3,000 will increase by ₹75 to ₹100 for the upcoming 2026-27 financial year.
The fee adjustment is a standard procedure as national highway tolls are recalibrated annually based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI). Since the annual pass provides a bulk-payment benefit for 200 trips, its base cost is directly impacted by these inflation-linked toll revisions.
New Rates and Implementation
Commuters can currently purchase the pass for ₹3,000 through the official Rajmargyatra mobile application or the NHAI portal. The pass is restricted to non-commercial vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans. It covers over 1,150 toll plazas nationwide, allowing users to bypass per-trip deductions.

Urgent Advisory on FASTag Scams
While the price hike looms, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) has flagged a sophisticated scam targeting FASTag users. Fraudsters are reportedly creating “clone” websites that mimic official NHAI and IHMCL portals to offer fake discounts on the annual pass.
These cybercriminals use sponsored social media advertisements to lure victims into entering vehicle numbers and sensitive banking credentials. The Home Ministry has advised citizens to use only the Rajmargyatra app for transactions and to report suspicious links via the 1033 helpline or the national cybercrime portal.
