Ducati Streetfighter V2 India : Picture this: you get the explosive heart of a Panigale superbike, strip away the fairings, bolt on a wide handlebar, and suddenly you have a motorcycle that’s equally happy carving canyons or crawling through city traffic. That’s exactly what Ducati has done with the all-new 2025 Streetfighter V2, now officially launched in India.
Priced from ₹17.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Streetfighter V2 arrives in two flavors – standard and the sharper V2 S – and brings Italian flair to the hotly contested middle-weight naked bike segment currently dominated by the Triumph Street Triple, KTM 990 Duke and Aprilia Tuono V4.
Why This Bike Feels Like a Game-Changer
Most naked superbikes are basically race replicas with the plastics removed – exciting on a racetrack, exhausting on broken Indian roads. Ducati claims the Streetfighter V2 is different because it calls this philosophy the “Fight Formula”: maximum attack with real-world comfort.
Independent motorcycle tester and YouTuber Dino Dalle Carbonare (who rode the bike in Italy) said, “It’s the first time a Streetfighter feels like it was actually designed for the street rather than just de-faired for it. The torque arrives so early you can ride in sixth gear at 40 km/h and still pull cleanly.”
Heart of a Champion: The New 890cc V-Twin
At the core sits Ducati’s lightest-ever twin-cylinder engine – a 890 cc 90-degree V-twin that weighs only 54.4 kg. It pumps out 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and 93.3 Nm at 8,250 rpm, but the magic number is this: more than 70% of peak torque is available from just 3,000 rpm. Translation – lightning-fast overtakes in city traffic without constant gear shifting.
Add the optional Akrapovič racing exhaust (₹2.8 lakh approx.) and power climbs to 126 hp while dropping 4.5 kg – perfect for weekend track days.
Built to Dance – Chassis and Suspension
The bike uses the Panigale V2’s aluminum monocoque frame with the engine as a stressed member, delivering razor-sharp handling. The standard model gets fully adjustable Marzocchi front forks and a Kayaba rear shock, while the V2 S upgrades to premium Öhlins units (NIX-30 fork + TTX shock) and sheds 3 kg, tipping the scales at just 175 kg dry – making it the lightest Streetfighter Ducati has ever sold.
Braking comes from Brembo Stylema M50 calipers gripping 320 mm discs, wrapped in sticky Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV rubber. A Sachs steering damper keeps everything calm when you pin the throttle at triple-digit speeds.
